A real flame, without the chimney
The Bio Flame builds ventless bioethanol fireplaces for built-in installation — fireboxes, burner inserts and free-standing units that burn clean bioethanol and need no chimney, no vent and no gas connection. Bodies are 304 stainless steel, double-walled and insulated, with 8mm tempered glass, an automatic refill system and safety sensors as standard.
The SMART burners add SmartFlame dual-stage technology: six flame levels, controlled by remote or the WiFi app. The Smart Water Vapour range does something different again — ultrasonic water vapour producing 3D flames in seven colours, with no heat, smoke or emissions at all.

Do I need a chimney, a flue or a gas line?
No. Bioethanol burns clean, so there is nothing to vent — no chimney, no flue, no gas connection. That is the whole point of the range, and it is why these units go into walls and rooms a conventional fireplace could never reach. The SMART burners and the water vapour models do need a standard electrical supply for their controls.
What is the difference between a firebox, a burner and a SMART burner?
A burner insert is the fuel unit on its own, for dropping into a fireplace opening you are building or already have. A firebox is a complete enclosure — insulated, double-walled 304 stainless with 8mm tempered glass — ready to be framed into a wall. A SMART burner is a burner with SmartFlame technology on top: six adjustable flame levels, automatic refill, and control by remote or WiFi app rather than by hand.
How are the Smart Water Vapour fireplaces different?
They do not burn anything. Ultrasonic technology turns water into vapour and lights it to produce ultra-realistic 3D flames in seven adjustable colours across five height levels, with no heat, no smoke and no emissions. They run on a manual fill or a direct water line, and carry a water-level sensor and child lock. If you want the look of fire in a space where real flame is not appropriate, this is the range.
Are they certified?
Yes. The bioethanol range is CE approved and certified to the EN 16647 standard, and third-party tested. Every unit carries a three-year warranty.
How does delivery work?
Shipping is included across the United States. Stock items are dispatched from The Bio Flame within one to two business days and typically arrive in two to three weeks. Made-to-order pieces — including the water vapour range — are built for you and take longer; the current lead time is shown on each product page.
Everything ships by freight. Please inspect the crate before you sign for it — transit damage has to be noted on the delivery receipt.
