Get that wrong in either direction and the stove will either never heat the room or spend its life running slow, which glazes the glass and tars the flue. What size stove do I need?

Measure the room and we will point you at the right output band. The rule of thumb is roughly 1kW for every 14m³ — a well-insulated room needs less, an old draughty one more.
